The College Experience is a program created by Tylen Elliott in collaboration with the 2014-2015 BSU Executive Board. It was designed to empower and inspire inner city high school students to pursue higher education. The program provides teens with an introduction to college, giving many of them their first opportunity to spend a day on campus. During this year's College Experience students from East St. Louis High School enjoyed interactive workshops focused on subjects such as goal setting and positive decision making, toured the campus, received free lunch in the dining halls, viewed a Greek stroll-off, participated in a Q&A session with a panel of college students, and more! The new program received rave reviews and several students stated that attending changed their perspective on college for the better and inspired them to pursue higher education.
